Highway hedge cutting and flailing is delivered using tractor-mounted flail arms operating from the verge, with follow-up hand cutting where required at junctions, visibility splays and around street furniture. We operate on annual cyclical programmes timed to comply with nesting bird season restrictions, and can deliver reactive cutting for sight-line obstruction reports.

Verge mowing is carried out using tractor-mounted flail mowers, ride-on units and pedestrian machines depending on road classification and site constraints. We maintain grass to specification heights on A-roads, B-roads and urban distributor routes, with GPS tracking providing auditable attendance records for client reporting.

Our tree surgery operations on the highway network include routine crown maintenance, deadwood removal, and clearance of vegetation from overhead cables and signage. We have particular experience in ash dieback (Chalara) survey and removal programmes, working under ecological watching briefs with systematic plot-by-plot felling, stump treatment and replanting schemes.

Mechanised arboriculture is a core strength. We deploy excavator-mounted tree shears, grapple saws and mulching heads for high-volume tree removal on highway corridors, rail-adjacent land and flood defence embankments. This approach delivers significantly higher output rates than traditional chainsaw methods, with reduced operative risk through remote operation from the cab.
